What is trust signal?
A trust signal is any on-page element that helps a reader or crawler verify a site is legitimate — contact details, editorial policy, named authors, citations, or update dates.
Why it matters
Trust signals matter more since AI answer engines began weighting source credibility when choosing what to cite.
Publishing a visible last-updated date on evergreen pages is one of the cheapest improvements available.
