The SEO Challenge
10 timed questions (25 seconds each) on guest posting, link building, on-page and technical SEO, answer engine optimization, and analytics. Every answer comes with a short explanation, so a round doubles as a three-minute refresher. Score well and you can add your name to the public leaderboard.

- 4. At the end you get an accuracy score, a rank title, and your total time.
SEO Challenge — frequently asked questions
Everything about how the game is scored, what happens to your details, and where to learn the material.
- What is the SEO Challenge?
- It is a free, timed 10-question game covering guest posting, on-page SEO, link building, technical SEO, answer engine optimization, and analytics. Every question includes an explanation so you learn as you play.
- Is the game free?
- Yes. It is completely free, with no payment and no software to install. It runs in your browser.
- Do I need an account to play?
- No. You can play the full round anonymously. You only enter your name and email if you want your score saved to the public leaderboard.
- What do you do with my email address?
- We use it to confirm your leaderboard entry and, if you tick the opt-in box, to send occasional guest posting and SEO tips. We never sell or publish it — only your display name and score appear on the leaderboard.
- How is the score calculated?
- One point per correct answer within the 25-second timer, plus a streak bonus display for consecutive correct answers. Your accuracy percentage decides your rank title.
- What are the rank titles?
- Under 40% accuracy is SEO Curious, 40% and above is Outreach Apprentice, 60% and above is Content Strategist, 80% and above is Link Builder Pro, and 95% and above is SEO Grandmaster.
- How is the leaderboard ordered?
- Highest score first. Ties are broken by the fastest completion time, then by who submitted earliest.
- Can I play more than once?
- Yes. Questions are shuffled each round and drawn from a pool of 24, so no two rounds feel identical. Play again to beat your own time.
- Are the answers based on official guidance?
- The questions reflect published Google documentation and widely accepted industry practice. Explanations flag where a point is a best practice rather than a confirmed ranking factor.
- How long does a round take?
- About three to four minutes. Each question allows up to 25 seconds.
- Is the quiz useful for teams?
- Yes. Agencies and in-house teams use it as a quick baseline check before onboarding, and as a light training exercise for new hires.
- Where can I learn the material properly?
- Read the complete guide to guest posting, then browse the glossary for definitions and the comparison pages for SEO versus AEO versus GEO.
