What is referring domain?
A referring domain is a unique website that links to yours at least once. Ten links from ten different sites are worth far more than ten links from one site.
Why it matters
Growth in referring domains is the single most reliable link-building KPI, because it is much harder to inflate than raw link count.
Track new versus lost referring domains monthly to see whether a campaign is actually compounding.
